How do You Write a Political Blog without Talking About the ELECTION?!

I have not been at all compelled to write here about the presidential election. How do you write a political blog without talking about the biggest election of all? This is a political blog, right? No, this is a government affairs blog. I don't work on campaigns.

While I personally feel VERY strongly that there is a good candidate and a bad candidate (Insert Glenda the good witch asking, "Are you a good candidate or a bad candidate?" ) I don't really think this is the place for me to foist my good/bad opinions on you.

In my experience with government affairs, I target an elected official for their particular stance on an issue and their ability to effect change. The flexibility elected officials are allowed without rebuke (from their party chairperson) has ebbed recently, but my clients are still visiting an elected official because that person can make a difference. And they can make a difference because of their committee assignment, their position in leadership, or their personal interest in an issue.

I'm not saying I don't care about elections. I do. Personally I care deeply. But professionally, I can't wait for the confetti to fall so I can really get to work.
